X engagement calculator

Likes and replies against the views each post got, with the same lines Coldpitch uses to decide a feed needs help.

Free, no signup. It runs in your browser: nothing you type is sent anywhere.

Why per view, not per follower

On X, most of what followers see is decided by the feed, not by following. An account with 300,000 followers and 5,000 views a post can be doing fine; divide by followers and it looks broken. So Coldpitch measures likes and replies against the views each post actually got, and so does this calculator.

The lines it uses

How to collect the numbers

Use original posts only, at least two days old. Replies and reposts have tiny reach and drag every number down, and a post from this morning has not collected its likes yet. Views, likes and replies are under each post on X. Reading these numbers by hand is a guide of its own, and for an agency they are the audit that opens the first message.

Questions people actually ask

How do you calculate engagement rate on X?

Divide likes and replies by the views each post got, not by followers, and look at several recent original posts rather than one. Most accounts reach far fewer people than they have followers, so a follower-based rate mostly measures the feed, not the content.

What is a good engagement rate on X?

By the line Coldpitch uses: on most posts, at least 2 likes per 1,000 views and at least 1 reply per 2,000 views. Below that on 70% of posts, engagement is not keeping up with reach.

Why does it need at least three posts?

Because one post is a good or a bad day. The lines only mean something across several posts, which is how Coldpitch applies them too.

Try Coldpitch and skip the manual part

It finds the accounts worth writing to, spots the weak point, digs out who to talk to on Telegram or X, and writes the first message from what it actually found. Less work than doing this by hand, and better leads at the end of it.
